Compliments of Cedar City Co-Op

Assn.Thomas L. Roche,

Manager Cedar City, Utah

This decorative calendar plate was distributed by the Cedar City Co-Op Association in 1912 as a promotional gift to customers. The outer ring displays the months of 1912, while the inner calendar references 1911, surrounding a pastoral farm scene that reflects the agricultural roots of the community.

In the early 20th century, local businesses often gave away useful household items to build customer loyalty. Plates like this served as both decoration and daily reference, keeping the business name visible in the home year-round.

More than a calendar, this plate represents early cooperative enterprise in southern Utah and illustrates how small-town businesses used creative marketing long before modern advertising campaigns.
